Refund Policy

At Hobbies Used Auto Parts, we stand behind our inventory. We understand that repair projects don't always go as planned, and sometimes a part isn't exactly what you needed. To ensure a transparent and fair experience, we offer a refund policy on all parts we sell, subject to the terms below.

1. Return Period

All returns must be initiated within 30 days of the original purchase date (or the date of delivery for shipped items). Requests made after this 30-day window are generally not eligible for a refund.

 

2. Condition of Returned Parts

To receive a full refund, the following conditions must be met:

  • Identifying Markings: Every part we sell is marked with a unique Hobbies Used Auto Parts identifier (stamp, paint mark, or UV ink). If this marking has been removed, tampered with, or cleaned off, the return will be denied.

  • Original Condition: Parts must be returned in the same condition as they were when they left our yard. We cannot accept returns on parts that have been disassembled, modified, or damaged during an attempted installation.

  • Core Returns: If your purchase involved a "core charge," the core must be drained of all fluids and returned within the specified timeframe to receive your core refund.

 

3. Non-Returnable Items

While we offer refunds on all parts, please note that certain items are subject to specific limitations:

  • Electrical Parts: Sensors, ECUs, and wiring harnesses are tested before sale. If returned, these may be subject to a restocking fee or offered as an exchange only, due to the risk of electrical shorts caused by the vehicle they were installed in.

  • Cut-to-Fit Items: Any body sections or frames that were custom-cut at the buyer’s request are final sale.

 

4. Shipping & Restocking Fees

  • Customer Error: If a part was ordered incorrectly by the customer (e.g., wrong year, make, or model), the customer is responsible for the return shipping costs. A 15%–20% restocking fee may be applied to cover the labor of testing and restocking the item.

  • Our Error: If we ship the wrong part or a defective part, Hobbies Used Auto Parts will cover the return shipping costs and issue a 100% refund or a free replacement.

5. International Returns

For our international customers, the 30-day window still applies. However, please be aware that we do not refund original international shipping duties, taxes, or brokerage fees. Return shipping on international orders is the responsibility of the buyer unless the part is proven defective.

 

6. Labor & Diagnostics

Important Disclaimer: Hobbies Used Auto Parts is responsible for the cost of the part only. We do not refund labor costs, diagnostic fees, or towing charges associated with the installation or failure of a used part.

with your invoice number and a brief description of the issue. For defective parts, photos or a shop diagnostic report may be requested to speed up the refund process.
